The Window

When I look into your eyes
I feel like sitting in a small and dark room
with a small window

Through the window, I see the world outside
From the window, I get a shaft of light
but it's limited to a square of windowsill

How I wished I sat in a room
with many of windows
To see more, to get more

What curious sadness there is in this poem. To me it is an allegory of not getting enough love in return for that given. Very touching.

This beautiful little poem is almost a cry for help. So moving.

Sounds a sad place to be in, more like a cell!! Hope more doors and windows open up here, to let in a flood of sunlight!!

I hope more doors and windows get added to your dark little room. I could really relate to the feeling of wanting to see more of something.

made me think a bit. there is a sense of sadness and limitation. the poet wishes for a broadening of her horizons (for more windows) that line itself is enough to carry this beautiful poem. nice wording too. keep up.

Beautifully sad. It gives me the sense of chance lost.

Impressively austere, with a touching, spare beauty that makes one sigh.

Wow, I wonder why the character here only wishes "to have more windows" instead of "going outside".
It is as if he/she has disabilities to ask for more.

Beautiful. :)

All : thanks for stopping by and leaving me nice comments... :)

Dhitermination: This time, I haven't had any willingness to move on... I still want to be in this room... ;)

Oh I like this. It made me think of me and my ex husband - only a small window and yes I often wished for many more. I know what I mean and this poem was terrific. Cheers, Wendy.

Eyes not only give us vision, they limit our vision. Close your eyes and fill in the blanks.

I love this poem so much! How I too wish I could see more than the eyes show. Also, great picture.
