When I look into your eyes
I feel like sitting in a small and dark room
with a small window
Through the window, I see the world outside
From the window, I get a shaft of light
—but it's limited to a square of windowsill
—but it's limited to a square of windowsill
How I wished I sat in a room
with many of windows
To see more, to get more

What curious sadness there is in this poem. To me it is an allegory of not getting enough love in return for that given. Very touching.
Robin, thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment...
Yes, there is a certain sadness here...
This beautiful little poem is almost a cry for help. So moving.
Sounds a sad place to be in, more like a cell!! Hope more doors and windows open up here, to let in a flood of sunlight!!
very eye opening piece.
fabulous write..

Happy Sunday.
I like this a lot! especially the repetition
I hope more doors and windows get added to your dark little room. I could really relate to the feeling of wanting to see more of something.
made me think a bit. there is a sense of sadness and limitation. the poet wishes for a broadening of her horizons (for more windows) that line itself is enough to carry this beautiful poem. nice wording too. keep up.
What a marvellous piece!
i am always in need of more windows.
the beauty of quiet longing here.
a lovely poem
Beautifully sad. It gives me the sense of chance lost.
So moving and so touching you never can have enough windows

Beautiful and sincere words. :) Enjoyed your poem.
Impressively austere, with a touching, spare beauty that makes one sigh.
Very moving and so very sad. Nice write.

Wow, I wonder why the character here only wishes "to have more windows" instead of "going outside".
It is as if he/she has disabilities to ask for more.
Beautiful. :)
All : thanks for stopping by and leaving me nice comments... :)
Dhitermination: This time, I haven't had any willingness to move on... I still want to be in this room... ;)
Oh I like this. It made me think of me and my ex husband - only a small window and yes I often wished for many more. I know what I mean and this poem was terrific. Cheers, Wendy.
Eyes not only give us vision, they limit our vision. Close your eyes and fill in the blanks.
love it, amazing.
I dated that same guy.
Wonderful post!
an elusive world lurks
wish for more windows, wow.
this is cool piece, sweet and profound.
I love this poem so much! How I too wish I could see more than the eyes show. Also, great picture.
Wow! A very nice piece. Thanks for sharing.
Opens up my eyes. Makes me learn to share and reciprocate the love received.
